**Strutterzine Dutch Rock website/magazine review:ĪLLAN THOMAS ‘THE JOURNEY’ (BLACK BAMBOO RECORDINGS/HEMIFRAN) Fortunately you cannot wear out a CD by playing it over and over, like so many of my old LPs! Jess I did not think I could appreciate anything more than Coconut Culture, but you have proven me so wrong with The Voyage. Congrats! Personally, I think the new album is your career masterpiece, from beginning to end, and I especially love the spoken word songs. I just read today’s Garden Island and saw you on page 4. One of those albums that I easily fall in love with when every sound speaks to me perfectly. The songs are nice jewels and blades superbly beautiful in every little tone and sound. But the music flows along Blaskan’s own tear ducts with a gondola of diamonds. Allan Thomas is comfortable so that Blaskan’s friends are transformed into a luxuriously comfortable summer radio channel even more visual elements. Yes Bill LaBounty himself would probably smile if he listened now. I think if the radio show Eldorado has existed today, this shimmering luxury pop is definitely the standard record to be played there.
